Bill Self and Kansas have picked up a commitment from Kohl Rosario, he announced via X.com.
“What I like about KU is the fact that you are playing for something bigger than yourself,” Rosario told ZAGSBLOG. “There is so much basketball history at KU. Furthermore, KU has a coaching staff that cannot compare and they do a lot of winning. I want to win.” Rosario, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing out of Overtime Elite and the Team CP3 Nike EYBL AAU program, has been one of the highest risers of the summer. At every stop, the wing has produced at a high level. For Team CP3 across eight games, Rosario’s averaged 14.2 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 50.6% from the field and 20-of-45 (44.4%) from 3-point range. Most recently, Rosario was a force at NBPA Top 100 Camp, where he averaged 13.8 points. He also represented Overtime Elite at the Next Gen Euro League and posted a 30-point game on a perfect 10-of-10 shooting.Blessed to announce that I am reclassifying and have committed to play @KUHoops. Because of his play, Rosario’s recruitment soared with Blue Bloods like Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina offering. Rosario took visits to Florida State and Oregon before his trip to Lawrence. He was set to visit Texas A&M and Duke as well but decided on the Jayhawks shortly after his official. βWe’re very excited to add Kohl this year’s team,β Self said. βItβs not often there’s a player of his potential to become available at this point. We feel that what Kohl brings from a perimeter athletic shooting standpoint is something that weβve needed to add to this year’s roster. He is one of the hardest working youngsters that we’ve ever recruited and feel the transition to college ball will be more seamless due to this. He’s been very well drilled, and I think his competitiveness will add a piece to our culture.β Rosario was ranked a top-50 prospect by 247Sports as a member of the 2026 class. He can really shoot it from deep and has the athleticism to play above the rim and finish dunks. He’s officially signed with the Jayhawks.
