Kansas has an exciting year ahead of it.

Loyola-Chicago transfer Jayden Dawson will be suiting up for Kansas next season, the school announced on Saturday.

“We are so excited about Jayden,” Kansas head coach Bill Self said. “He had an excellent year at Loyola-Chicago. He’s got good size, plays any perimeter position and can shoot the ball. Jayden is a great start to our portal signing.”

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game in his junior year. Dawson played all three seasons of his collegiate career at Loyola-Chicago. He will now head to the Big 12.

While this is the first portal commitment for Kansas, the program has an exciting recruitment class on its way, headlined by ESPN No. 2 prospect Darryn Peterson.

Guards Elmarko Jackson and Jamari McDowell will return to Kansas next season, while Overtime Elite recruits Bryson Tiller and Samis Calderon are set to join the program as well.
