McNeese players are following their previous head coach Will Wade to NC State.

McNeese State transfer guard Quadir Copeland will suit up for NC State next season, he announced Friday.

The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 9 points, 3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in his junior year. Copeland transferred to McNeese State after playing his first two seasons at Syracuse.

He will be following Wade, who left McNeese State after the program pulled off one of the NCAA Tournament’s biggest upsets over No. 6 Clemson.

Now they will both be joining Clemson’s conference in the ACC to try and breathe life into a program that struggled this season. NC State went 5-15 in conference play this season after making a run to the Final Four the season before under Kevin Keatts. Wade and Copeland will try to recreate the magic that they pulled off at McNeese State this season.
