Four-star guard Korey Francis has committed to Rutgers, LeagueReady’s Sam Kayser first reported on Friday.
Francis, a 6-foot-3 guard from the Philadelphia area, chose the Scarlet Knights over Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, East Carolina and others.
Though he’s 6-foot-3, Francis is a bigger guard with a frame that plays larger than his height. The best part of Francis’ game is his ability to get downhill, 247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein said.
With head coach Steve Pikiell away from the team due to his ongoing cancer treatment, Rutgers’ temporary transition of power appears to be in good standing as the Scarlet Knights landed their second commit in the class of 2027.
Entering his senior season at Monsignor Bonner HS (PA), Francis is coming off a breakout junior campaign where he averaged 21.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
In addition to landing Francis on Friday, Rutgers also picked up a commitment from four-star guard RJ Moore earlier in September.
Francis is a four-star recruit in 247Sports’ last rankings for the class of 2027, ranked as the No. 129 overall prospect in the country.
