    EYz2YYA1_400x400Emmanuel Malou, a 6-foot-9, 210-pound power forward from Yuba College (CA), verbally committed to Iowa State on Friday.

    “With Coach [Steve] Prohm and Coach T.J. [Otzelberger], I just feel so comfortable with everything,” he told Chris Williams of CycloneFanatic.com. “I’ve never been so sure about something in my life. I feel like it is just the right decision for me. I have so much support in Iowa and I’m familiar with the area. I’m just happy, so happy.”

    A native of Australia, Malou also held offers from Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, West Virginia, Oregon State, Marquette, Oklahoma State Texas Tech.

    Articles, Penn State

    LamarLamar Stevens, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound small forward from Philly Roman Catholic, committed to Penn State on Friday.

    “When I took my official up there…it was such a family environment and you could tell that they had so much confidence in me and my ability to be successful,” he told CoBL on Thursday night. “It was hard for me to turn down.”

    The No. 19 small forward in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports.com, Stevens was coming off an official visit to Penn State last weekend but also considered Indiana, Villanova and Marquette.

    “He has a college-ready body with high level athleticism,” Roman Catholic coach Chris McNesby told SNY.tv. “He is very good in the open floor – runs well and finishes in transition. He can guard multiple positions on defense and rebounds very well. His jump shot is continuing to develop and become more consistent. “

    Articles, Michigan State

    CassiusCassius Winston, a 6-foot-2 point guard from University of Detroit (MI) Jesuit, announced for Michigan State on Friday.

    Winston, ranked the No. 5 point guard in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.com, also took officials to Stanford and Pittsburgh.

    He averaged 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game with The Family on the Nike EYBL circuit.

    “His offense was really expanded. The element I really took note of was the improvement in consistency of his jump shot,” Sam Webb, a recruiting analyst for Scout.com, told The Detroit News. “He’s added a step-back jumper in his game and he can really keep quicker-footed defenders honest now. He can hit the 3, he can shoot off the dribble and he certainly can drive and finish with contact.”

    Road TripFollowing a busy week in which college coaches criss-crossed the country to visit with their priority recruits, many of of those recruits will hit the road for official visits.

    Here’s a rundown that will be updated over the weekend. For more detail on any player, click the embedded link near their name:

    *Seton Hall has a big weekend on the recruiting front. Kevin Willard’s club is hosting Bryce Aiken, a 5-11 point guard from Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick’s, and Myles Powell, a 6-2 shooting guard from South Kent (CT). Sources say Powell likes Seton Hall a lot, while Aiken will visit Miami next weekend after having visited Harvard. He will then decide between the three schools.

    Articles, Oak Hill Academy, Recruiting

    4_3721433Mario Kegler, a 6-foot-7 small forward who recently announced his transfer to Oak Hill Academy (Va.), will likely visit Mississippi State on top of his four other officials.

    Kegler will visit Arizona State (Sept. 18-20), Penn State (Sept. 25-27), Maryland (Oct. 15-17) and Indiana (Oct. 23-25), Omhar Carter, Kegler’s guardian and AAU coach, recently told SNY.tv.

    He is also considering UConn, Mississippi State, LSU and Baylor but a fifth official has not been chosen.
