  • Wenyen Gabriel,the 6-foot-10, 195-pound forward from Wilbraham & Monson, enjoyed his weekend official to Maryland and his next scheduled visit is for Kentucky.

“Wenyen had a good visit,” coach Mike Mannix told SNY.tv. “He likes the staff and team. He left campus with a good understanding of how he fits in. He’s taking it all in. He’s doing a tremendous job of gathering information and then taking some time to process all of it. He’s handling all of this with great maturity.

“I like their style of play,” Gabriel said of Maryland before the visit. “I like the whole atmosphere there, it’s kind of nice.”

4_3560853Dylan Painter, a 6-foot-10, 230-pound power forward from Hershey (PA) High School, enjoyed his official visit to Penn State and is now weighing his next move.

“I’ve been there many times so I didn’t really see anything new but I just really enjoyed spending time with the staff and players,” Painter said on Sunday. “The atmosphere at the football game was great. And they said I could play the 4 or the 5 and they would like me to stretch the floor and play inside.”

“With Rutgers, they’re still recruiting me right now but I just want to wait,” Ahmed told SNY.tv Sunday by phone. “I like Rutgers and everything but I had a lot of schoolwork this week. I just wanted to wait until later on….I’m not visiting Rutgers right now.”
