  • SKThere is a difference between college basketball and the NBA and perhaps nobody better illustrates that than Cincinnati’s Sean Kilpatrick, a 24-year-old redshirt senior having a magnificent season for the Bearcats.

Youth, potential and upside are bonuses for NBA executives evaluating talent, whereas age, experience and wisdom are virtual negatives in this day and age.

Of the Top 10 projected picks on the DraftExpress.com Mock Draft, none is older than 19.

Projected No. 1 pick Joel Embiid? 19.

No. 2 pick Andrew Wiggins? 18.

GRANDSTAFF,-AUSTIN_6_25_150By JACK LeGWIN & ADAM ZAGORIA

Austin Grandstaff has pulled his commitment from Oklahoma State and reopened his recruitment.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Rockwall (TX) is the No.36 ranked player in the Class of 2015 by 247 Sports.

“We’re looking at anybody and everybody,” Wes Grandstaff, the director of Team Texas and Austin’s father, told SNY.tv Friday morning.

“Since [Thursday] night we’ve talked to Ohio State, we’ve talked to Iowa State, we’ve talked to Oklahoma,” Wes said. “SMU called this morning. Texas A&M, we’ve heard from them.”

Three players from Chipola (FL) College who were busted last month for eating weed are back with the team after felony charges were dropped.

“The felony charges have been dropped.”Chipola head coach Patrick Blake told WJHG.com. “They’ve been allowed to come back. As of last week. For now, Jamaar McKay is with the team. And Torian Graham and Cinmeon Bowers are back at practice, but for the moment they will not be playing.”

Bowers is a Florida State commit and Graham (pictured) was being recruited by Missouri and Kentucky, among others.

Eli Cain is a shooting guard at St. Benedict’s Prep who is receiving increasing interest and offers from Division 1 schools. He will be contributing periodically to ZAGSBLOG. Here’s his first entry:

    What’s good, everybody?

My name is Eli Cain and I was born and raised in Willingboro, N.J., which is a small town in South Jersey.

Last year I attended Medford Tech High School in Medford, N.J., where my teammates and I had a great season but took a tough loss in the state finals. During the summer I play AAU ball with the best squad out, the New Jersey Playaz!
