  • The Philadelphia 76ers summer league team will have a strong Kentucky flavor.

Former Wildcats Isaiah Briscoe, Aaron Harrison and Alex Poythress will play on the team, via sources and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Poythress joins 76ers Shawn Long and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot on the team, via the Inquirer. Maryland’s Melo Trimble is also on the team.

The 6-foot-3 Briscoe and the 6-3 Trimble both went undrafted Thursday night.

Briscoe worked out for the Sixers and Knicks, among others, but an ankle injury sidelined him from five workouts leading up to the draft.

Kentucky sophomore guard and former Roselle (N.J.) Catholic guard Isaiah Briscoe has decided to enter his name in the 2017 NBA Draft and plans to sign with an agent.

The NBA Draft is June 22.

The 6-foot-3 Briscoe is the fourth Kentucky player to declare this month and the third to go with an agent, following freshmen guards De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk. Freshman forward Bam Adebayo is testing the waters without an agent.

Briscoe is not currently projected to be drafted according to DraftExpress.com.

“BBN, thank you to the greatest fans in the entire world,” Briscoe said. “Thank you to Coach Cal, Coach KP (Kenny Payne), Coach Tony (Barbee), Coach JJ (Joel Justus), Coach Robes (John Robic), and (strength and conditioning coach) Rob (Harris). You helped me develop my game on the court and helped me grow as a man off the court.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — From Greenville, S.C. to New York City to Glendale, Chris Silva has logged a lot of miles over the last few weeks. Hopping from city to city as South Carolina advances throughout the NCAA Tournament has been quite the experience for the sophomore big man.

But don’t think Silva has forgotten about his ties back to Roselle, N.J., and don’t think they’ve forgotten about him, either.

“It’s been crazy,” Silva said about the Roselle Catholic support. “Everyone calling me, texting me and telling me from home that they’re proud of me. So, it’s been awesome.”
