Murray State transfer center Fred King is returning to Creighton after a breakout season with the Racers, On3’s Joe Tipton reported on Monday.
King, a 6-foot-9 native of the Bahamas, appeared in 103 games at Creighton over the course of three seasons, before spending his senior season at Murray State.
During the Bahamian’s breakout season last year, King averaged 13.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, being selected to the First-Team All-MVC and the All-Defensive Team in the conference.
Creighton and Murray State are two programs with a newfound connection, as Murray State head coach Ryan Miller, who recruited King to the Racers, spent four seasons as one of Greg McDermott’s top assistants at Creighton.
King’s return to Creighton is another example of players around the country benefiting from the eligibility ruling that granted members of the high school class of 2022 a fifth year of eligibility.
The newest member of Creighton will head to Omaha for his fifth season of college basketball, while his first four have all seen him make 30 or more appearances, amassing a total of 135 games played throughout his college career.
King’s return to the Bluejays will also be the program’s first season under new head coach Alan Huss, who replaced McDermott following his retirement after the 2025-26 season.
He’s Creighton’s ninth addition of the offseason and now their sixth in the transfer portal.
The remaining list of additions includes four-star guard Katrelle Harmon, four-star center Trevon Carter-Givens, JUCO center Wesly Rosa, Oakland transfer Brody Robinson, TCU transfer Kayden Edwards, San Diego State transfer BJ Davis, South Florida transfer Wes Enis and Providence transfer Oswin Erhunmwunse.
