Wofford transfer point guard Jackson Paveletzke has committed to Iowa State, he announced via Instagram.

Paveletzke, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard from Kimberly (WI), just played his freshman season at Wofford this past year. Therefore, he has several years of remaining eligibility for T. J. Otzelberger to utilize.

“I chose Iowa State because of the relationship I had with Coach (TJ) Otzelberger and the rest of the staff,” Paveletzke said to On3. “How coach carries himself, his mentality and work ethic is something I gravitated towards and he made me a priority since day one.”

Paveletzke averaged 15.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in his freshman campaign at Wofford. He also shot 49.3% from the field and 39.3% from 3-point range. Paveletzke’s performance earned him the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year award and All-Southern Conference third team honors.

The point guard will be joining an Iowa State squad that went 19-14 last season. The Cyclones finished fifth in the Big 12 regular season and lost to Pittsburg in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

“I have an opportunity to go there and win games, be myself and develop into a better player,” Paveletzke said to On3.

Paveletzke is the second transfer to commit to Iowa State this offseason, joining UNLV transfer guard Keshon Gilbert.

The Kimberly native is ranked the No. 256 overall player in the Evan Miya transfer portal rankings. This puts Paveletzke as the fourth highest rated three-star transfer.
