Class of 2023 four-star Eric Dailey Jr. has continued to see increased interest from college coaches and the pro-option but most recently cut his list to Michigan, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Florida State, Memphis, TCU, and Kansas.

In a recent interview with Rivals.com’s Krysten Peek, Dailey, a 6-foot-7 wing who plays for IMG Academy (FL.), recapped some of these schools and gave a timetable for his recruitment.

Oklahoma State: “They produced the No.1 pick Cade Cunningham. I like how he plays the big guards; if you’re able to bring the ball up, you know, go ahead, go. I like his system, how he’s a run and gun and plays fast, and that’s what you need.”

Memphis: “He’s [Penny Hardaway] been calling me a big guard the whole time. He never puts his players in the box; that’s how he was played, and you know he’s a legendary player; it’s hard not to listen to that.”

Kentucky: “Coach Cal came to IMG with his full staff, which a lot of players don’t get that, and it’s just a blessing. It’s a legendary coach, produced tons of NBA players, and he’s saying come here and play the wing.”

Michigan: “I know coach [Juwan Howard] since before he got there… He’s a Hall of Fame great guy great coach, and he cares about his players. Michigan’s in the Big 10, really good conference, they produce a lot of great guards and bigs.”

Dailey intends to begin visits after the current USA Basketball Camp. He noted that he wants to see Texas A&M and Florida State as well.

There is no current consensus favorite as to where Dailey may end up, but he did say to expect a commitment in the Spring of 2023.

“I’m going to probably make a decision in the Spring,” Dailey said in the interview. “I want to be that guy to be late. I want everybody to be, you know, where’s he going, and it gives me time to really thoroughly think out the recruitment process.”

Dailey also intends to test the NBA process and go to the Draft Combine in May.
