  • Tai WynyardThe Nike Hoop Summit was already set to feature one Kentucky-bound player in Roselle (N.J.) Catholic point guard Isaiah Briscoe, who will play for the USA team in the April 11 game in Portland, Ore.

Now comes news that 2015 Kentucky commit Skal Labissiere of Haiti and 2016 Wildcats pledge Tai Wynyard of New Zealand will play for the World team in the game. The news was first reported by scout Can Pelister of trendbasket.net before the Hoop Summit later made the roster official.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 2 at 3 p.m on April 11.

The USA roster includes Kentucky targets Malik Newman, Jaylen Brown, Stephen Zimmerman, Brandon Ingram and Caleb Swanigan, who plans to announce his college choice at the Hoop Summit.

The World roster also includes Cheick Diallo of Our Savior New American, Thon Maker and Jamal Murray of Orangeville Prep and Italian guard Federico Mussini, among others.

LSU assistant David Patrick, who hopes to add the 6-foot-3 Newman to a recruiting class that already features Ben Simmons and Antonio Blakeney, watched Newman on Tuesday night.

The uncommitted guard went for 26 points as Callaway (MS) High beat Laurel, 83-73, in an MHSAA Class 5A boys semifinals. Newman and his teammates will play for a fourth straight state championship when they face Ridgeland in the 5A title game at 8 p.m. on Friday.

Bobby Mo 2NEW YORK As Lowell Ulmer’s three-quarter court 3-point attempt flew through the air in St. Francis’ bandbox of a gym, the capacity crowd of 1,013 watched in hushed silence.

A national television audience followed the ball’s flight on ESPN2.

There wasn’t much hanging in the balance.

Only the difference between overtime, and St. Francis’ first shot at an NCAA Tournament bid since 1948…or another disappointing season without a trip to March Madness.

NCAA Basketball: Mississippi at KentuckyNEW YORK — Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller both say that Andrew and Aaron Harrison should remain at Kentucky for their junior seasons instead of entering the NBA Draft.

“I think they should stay,” Miller told SNY.tv at at the NCAA Tournament Media Day Tuesday in New York. “I think Aaron’s probably a little bit more ready than Andrew, but if they want to be a package deal and come out together, then they both should wait.”

DraftExpress.com, the industry’s most widely respected mock draft site, currently has Andrew Harrison projected as the No. 51 pick in this year’s NBA Draft, and has Aaron going undrafted.
