Former Georgetown forward Greg Whittington is planning to transfer and will visit Rutgers this weekend, according to ESPN.com.

The Scarlet Knights host UNC-Greensboro on Saturday afternoon.

“I’m definitely looking to continue my career at another school,” Whittington told ESPN.com.

The 6-foot-8 Whittington told the site he’s also heard from Memphis, South Carolina and Nebraska.

He was dismissed from the Georgetown program last month.

Whittington suffered a torn ACL this past summer but told ESPN.com he is about two months away from being cleared to play.

Last season he averaged 12. 1 points and 7.0 rebounds through 13 games before being declared academically ineligible.

“I’d like to thank Georgetown. I really appreciate everything they did for me — both the coaching staff and the players,” Whittington said, “but now it’s time for me to move to another stage in my life.”

It remains unclear how much eligibility he has remaining.
