    The Knicks missed out on one veteran point guard but will sign another.

    Having swung and missed on Steve Nash after he chose the Lakers Wednesday night, the Knicks have agreed to sign veteran Jason Kidd to a three-year, $9-million deal.

    The story was first reported by ESPN.com and confirmed by a source close to the process to SNY.tv.

    “I just felt it was the right move,” Kidd told the Star-Telegram. “If [the Knicks] can re-sign Jeremy Lin, and they have Carmelo [Anthony] and Tyson [Chandler] and those guys, hopefully I can help them get a little bit better.

    Below is the release from the NCAA which impacts the New England Playaz, Florida Rams, Worldwide Renegades and SEBL Elite All-Stars.

    None are Nike teams and none are in the Peach Jam, so that event won’t be impacted.

    Still, the players from these teams can play with other teams this summer, so expect a feeding frenzy over top players like Chris Walker (pictured) and Kasey Hill of the Florida Rams.

    Chris Walker, the No. 2 power forward in the Class of 2013, Tweeted pictures of four schools Thursday and said he has a “decision soon.”

    The 6-foot-9, 210-pound Walker Tweeted pictures of the arenas at Kentucky, Louisville, Florida and Kansas, but he told SNY.tv by text that “I still have a lot of schools.”

    Kansas coach Bill Self says incoming freshmen Milton Doyle and Anrio Adams (pictured courtesy Rivals) are both qualified, but he’s still awaiting word from the NCAA Clearinghouse on them.

    And that may not happen until September or October.

    “Based on our information, all our kids have qualified,” Self told SNY.tv Thursday by phone. “But the NCAA still has to put their stamp on it, so I’m not going to make any judgments on that, even though we have no reason to be concerned at all right now.”

    The Connecticut Constitution of the American Ultimate Disc League has suspended operations indefinitely due to a legal and financial battle with the league over whether the AUDL is contractually permitted to expand into New York and Boston.

    The Houston Rockets have offered Knicks restricted free agent Jeremy Lin a four-year deal worth $31 million, according to the New York Post.

    The backloaded deal is reportedly worth $5 million in the first year and $5.2 million in the second, before it jumps to about $10.5 million in the third. There is a player option for the fourth year.

    Rockets GM Daryl Morey reportedly wined and dined Lin in Houston and also Tweeted Wednesday: “RedNation please help me welcome [Lin] back 2Houston today! Fitting on July4 as America is land of 2nd chances.’’

    The Knicks, who missed out on Steve Nash Wednesday when he agreed to a sign-and-trade with the Lakers, have the right to match any offer for Lin, who gave birth to the global phenomenon known as Linsanity.
