  • Zena Edosomwan attends the Harvard-Westlake School in California, but he’s dreaming of playing for Harvard.

A 6-foot-8 power forward ranked No. 35 at his position in the Class of 2012 by Rivals, Edosomwan currently lists the Crimson ahead of traditional powerhouses UCLA and Texas, as well as Cal and USC.

“His top preference has been leaning toward Harvard,” Greg Hilliard, the Harvard-Westlake coach, told SNY.tv Tuesday by phone.

“With his clear leaning toward Harvard, he needs 70 more points on the math side of things [on the SAT]. If the gets that most likely he would go.

Alleged Bernie Fine victims Bobby Davis and Mike Lang have filed a defamation lawsuit against Syracuse University and head coach Jim Boeheim.

Davis and Lang, former Syracuse ball boys who first told ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” that Fine molested them during the 1980s and ’90s, hired renowned lawyer Gloria Allred to represent them in the suit. Allred announced the lawsuit Tuesday at a news conference in New York, and said her clients filed suit in New York State Supreme Court.

Once the duo went public with their claims against Fine, Boeheim’s longtime friend and associate head coach, Boeheim called them “liars” and said they were after money.

“This is alleged to have occurred … what?” ” Boeheim said Nov. 17. “Twenty years ago? Am I in the right neighborhood? It might be 26 years ago? So, we are supposed to what? Stop the presses 26 years later? For false allegations? For what I absolutely believe is a false allegation? I know he’s lying about me seeing him in his hotel room. That’s a lie. If he’s going to tell one lie, I’m sure there’s a few more of them.

Seton Hall freshman Brandon Mobley was medically cleared to resume normal basketball activities and will be available for the Pirates in their game vs. Mercer on Sunday.

“We’re very happy to have Brandon back and that added depth in our frontcourt,” said head coach Kevin Willard.  “Our medical staff, headed by Dr. Anthony Festa and team trainer Tony Testa, has done a remarkable job in rehabilitating Brandon and getting him ready for court action.  We truly have some of the best medical personnel in the Big East.”

Yancy Gates issued a tearful apology Monday for his role in the now-famous Cincinnati-Xavier brawl, and the future of the game itself is in doubt.

“I want to apologize, really, to the whole city of Cincinnati, for my actions,” Gates, 22, said in reference to his cold-cocking of Xavier center Kenny Frease. “The actions that I displayed are not what I’m about, not what the University of Cincinnati is about.”

With his eyes full of tears, he added: “I’m just not that type of person. A lot of people have been calling me a thug, a gangster.”

Sean Miller wanted to defend his former guys at Xavier.

Instead, he ended up appearing to condone their bloody brawl Saturday with Cincinnati that left eight players on both teams suspended.

Now, the Arizona coach is backtracking. In a big way.

“I made comments following our win Saturday over Clemson regarding my former team, Xavier University,” he said in a statement. “These remarks were in response to a question as to whether I have been following Xavier’s on-the-court successes this season.  My comments were directed toward my admiration of their on-the-court toughness and their respective approach to giving great effort as a team.
