BROOKLYNDaniel Dingle came up on the losing end in the Sharette Dixon Classic one year ago, when his New York team fell to New Jersey.

But a year later, the Big Apple guys put a 133-101 beatdown on their visitors from the Garden State in the third annual game held in Dixon’s honor at Bishop Loughlin High School.

“Right now, yeah this is the game that proves it [that New York is better than New Jersey],” Dingle said after the game. “We’re always talking. I’d rather show than talk. I can show them more than I can tell them.”

The 6-foot-7 St. Raymond’s forward is considering Auburn, Temple, Seton Hall and Miami, and has recently visited Auburn and Temple.

“I just came back from the Temple visit,” he said. “It was great, a great experience. I got a chance to hang around [former St. Benedict’s standout] Aaron Brown and the guys, Coach [Fran] Dunphy.”

Dingle said he plans to visit Seton Hall unofficially “before the season, before practice starts because I don’t want to interfere with the goals and concepts that my team has.”

He also plans on visiting Miami unofficially and is getting an earful about it from St. Benedict’s guard Melvin Johnson, the former Rice star who recently committed to Miami.

“Oh, yeah, Melvin’s trying very hard,” Dingle said. “He’s telling me that’s the place to be. I’m going to find out.”

Dingle said he has set no concrete timetable for deciding, but hopes to sign in the early signing period next month.

“I gotta sit down with my parents,” he said. “We’re going to discuss all different schools, the pros and cons. We’re going to go from there.”
