J.P. Tokoto will announce his college choice on Friday.

“J.P. will announce his school on March 4,” his father, Trevor Trimble, said by text.

The 6-foot-6, 190-pound small forward from Menomonee Falls (Wisc.) recently cut his list to UConn, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Marquette, Maryland and UCLA.

“I would bet anything it’s either Carolina or Wisconsin,” said an assistant at one of the schools on his list.

Tokoto visited Carolina over the Feb. 19 weekend and attended the Tar Heels’ 48-46 victory over Boston College.

Tokoto is the No. 10 small forward in the Class of 2012, according to Rivals.com.
