  • Isaiah Mucius, the 6-foot-8, 190-pound small forward from Brewster (NH) Academy and the PSA Cardinals, took his first official visit to Xavier this past weekend along with fellow Class of 2018 standouts David McCormack and Noah Locke.

“Yeah, me, Noah and David hung out a good majority of our visit,” Mucius said Monday. “It was my first time on Xavier’s campus so everything was new to me.”

Xavier sees Mucius as a logical fit to help replace some departing stars.

“Their message was with JP Macura and Trevon Bluiett leaving, it was an opportunity for me to step in and play right away,” he said.

Matt Mucius, the player’s father, also made the trip.

Isaiah Mucius, the 6-foot-8, 183-pound Class of 2018 small forward from Brewster (N.H.) Academy and the PSA Cardinals AAU program, visited UConn and Temple this week and plans to cut his list later this summer.

“Each school’s message was different but they both want me to make an immediate impact on their programs,” he said.

As for UConn: “UConn wants me to replace Terry Larrier and be an impact player from Day One. They want me to be able to play all positions.”

On Temple: “Temple said that I would be another version of Quentin Rose who is there and they would use me in multiple positions.”
