Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley continues to build his roster through transfers.
The Sun Devils on Wednesday added transferring Kansas sophomore forward Carlton Bragg Jr. That follow their addition of San Diego State transfer Zylan Cheatham. Both players will sit the 2017-18 season per NCAA regulations.
“I have had a good relationship with [assistant] Anthony Coleman off the court,” Bragg said. “He’s been around the adidas Uprising and the AAU circuit and we just built a good relationship. When I found out I was transferring, I reached out to his program and I asked him for some advice and we just took it from there.”
Bragg is not without baggage.

Kansas suspended 6-foot-10 sophomore forward Carlton Bragg Jr. for a violation of team rules ahead of Saturday’s matchup with No. 4 Kentucky.
Bragg is averaging 6.1 points and 4.8 rebounds.
“This violation is not connected to the alleged incident in McCarthy Hall on Dec. 17th,” coach Bill Self said in a statement.
University of Kansas police are investigating an alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl at McCarthy Hall, which houses the Kansas men’s basketball team and other male students. Kansas players Frank Mason III, Mitch Lightfoot, Lagerald Vick, Tucker Vang and Josh Jackson were named as witnesses in the alleged incident.
(AP) – LAWRENCE, Kan. — Authorities have dismissed a battery charge against Kansas forward Carlton Bragg and instead charged the woman who accused him of shoving her into a stairwell.
Bragg, a 20-year-old sophomore, was suspended indefinitely from the Kansas basketball team after he was arrested Friday but has now been reinstated.
The Douglas County district attorney’s office said Wednesday in a release that the charge was dismissed after law enforcement officials reviewed surveillance video.
That video showed that before a man “forcefully” shoved a woman away from him and caused her to fall backward into an ascending staircase, the woman shoved, slapped and struck the man and put her hands around his neck.

Bragg, and his Villa Angela teammates, will face Arlington Country Day (Fla), which features 2015 top 100 forward Tulio Da Silva and 2016 Top 100 guards Mario Kegler and Lamonte Turner.
