COLORADO SPRINGS, Col. — Class of 2028 small forward Colton Hiller took his much anticipated Duke official visit this past Monday and came away thoroughly impressed.

“It was awesome,” Hiller, who attends Coatesville (PA) High School and runs with the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL circuit, said at USA Basketball Junior National Team mini-camp. “It exceeded expectations. It was great, definitely, just getting down there and seeing what Duke is about and the brotherhood. It was awesome.”

Hiller had dinner with all the players and felt he connected most with head coach Jon Scheyer.

“Coach Scheyer and all the staff recruits me hard but Coach Scheyer. I had dinner with all the players so everybody made me feel like family,” he said.

Hiller said Duke’s message to him was enroll early and be a big part of their recruiting class. Hiller has been linked to a possible reclass for 2027.

“They want to come in there early and [be] a big piece of their next season,” he said.

While Hiller’s recruitment remains open, he’s focusing on Florida and Duke. His brother Maxwell, the top offensive line recruit in the 2027 class, is committed to Florida and as expected he tries to recruit Colton to Florida.

“He tries a little bit, but he wants me to make the decision based off me,” he said. “He’s not going to push it too hard.”

HIller also picked up a Kentucky offer in July.

On3 called Duke the front runner for Hiller post visit. Hiller wouldn’t confirm or deny that but said he was just taking his recruitment as it comes.

“I don’t really know,” he said.. “I’m taking it day by day. I’m not sure yet.”
