Syracuse has landed a commitment from former Quinnipiac star Amarri Monroe, according to reports on Tuesday.
Monroe, who’s a 23-year beneficiary of the recent ruling about the high school class of 2022, averaged 15.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Bobcats last season.
The 6-foot-7 native of New York spent three seasons at Quinnipiac after spending his freshman season playing at Wofford.
Over the course of his four-year career, Monroe has made 118 appearances at the collegiate level, with career averages of 13.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Monroe will exercise his fifth year of eligibility, becoming the latest player to take advantage of the recent injunction.
With the addition of Monroe, the Orange have landed 11 additions in new head coach Gerry McNamara’s first offseason as the head coach of his alma mater.
This list of additions also includes Mexican center Iker Martinez, four-star guard Ryan Moesch, Slovenian forward Mark Morano Mahmutovic, Malian center Abdramane Siby, Siena transfer Francis Folefac, Appalachian State transfer Luke Wilson, Temple transfer Aiden Tobiason, McNeese transfer Garwey Dual, Siena transfer Tasman Goodrick and Siena transfer Gavin Doty.
