Four-star guard Antonio Pemberton has cut his list to eight schools, LeagueReady reported on Wednesday.
Pemberton, who’s a 6-foot-1 guard from the Boston area, has cut his list to Michigan State, Ohio State, Creighton, Marquette, Kansas, Tennessee, UCLA and Boston College.
Heading into his senior season at The Master’s Academy International (MA), Pemberton will join his former Brewster (NH) coach Jason Smith at the brand-new prep school.
This summer while playing for the Boston Rivals on the 3SSB circuit, Pemberton showcased his elite scoring tough shot-making for the program, averaging 24.0 points per game.
Speaking with ZAGSBLOG last spring about his play style and recruitment, Pemberton said he’s looking for a family-like program.
“I want to be somewhere where its like family,” Pemberton said. “Where I feel like I’m at home. Just like a brotherhood. Coaches they love you and that’s really it. Good campus and family. That’s really all.”
He also mentioned his ability to slow down the game as one of his strengths as a player.
“I don’t let the defense speed me up,” Pemberton said. “I’ll slow the game down, speed it up or anything. And I just like to get my teammates open. I like to see my teammates score, and then after I’ll get hype and play more defense. I’m just an energy guy really.”
