Class of 2027 wing Josh Rivera announced his commitment to USC on Wednesday at Arcbhishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y.

The 6-foot-7 Rivera most recently visited Southern Cal, where his former Stepinac teammates Adonis and Darius Ratliff are freshmen under head coach Eric Musselman. The Big Ten school offered him on Oct. 4.

“I will be committing to University of Southern California. Fight on,” he announced

He also visited Loyola-Chicago and UMass. Hofstra and FIU were also involved, and N.C. State was the most recent to offer.

A standout member of Stepinac’s nationally recognized basketball program, Rivera has played a key role in the Crusaders’ continued success, contributing to three straight New York City Catholic League championship teams during his high school career.

As a junior, Rivera appeared in 26 games, averaging 8.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 53% from three-point range on 93 attempts.

Rivera has also earned recognition as one of the top prospects in the Class of 2027. According to ESPN’s SC Next rankings, he is ranked No. 2 among Class of 2027 prospects in New York State and No. 33 among small forwards nationally. ON3/Rivals ranks Josh 127 Nationally and 247 Sports ranks Josh at 145 Nationally in the 2027 Class and a 4-star prospect.

“Josh has been an important part of our program’s success, and we are incredibly proud of the player and young man he has become both on and off the court,” said head coach Pat Massaroni. “His dedication, loyalty, work ethic, and commitment to his teammates has helped our program achieve tremendous success. Josh has a bright future ahead of him, and we look forward to celebrating this exciting milestone with him and his family.”
