Michigan State has landed a commitment from four-star center Jaydn Jenkins, On3 first reported.
A 6-foot-10 senior at Archbishop Wood HS (PA), Jenkins chose the Spartans over Ohio State, Xavier and Pittsburgh.
“Jaydn is a very long, athletic big who is a tremendous rim protector,” Archbishop Wood coach John Mosco told ZAGSBLOG. “His upside on offense is high with great footwork. His work ethic will have him playing at a high level. Great fit for Michigan State and Coach Izzo.”
Jenkins visited all four of the previously mentioned schools, with his visit to East Lansing happening on Sept. 11 before ultimately committing to play for Hall of Fame head coach Tom Izzo.
Boasting a massive 7-foot-4 wingspan, Jenkins is one of the best rim protectors in the class of 2027. Though he’s not much of an outside scoring threat, Jenkins does serve as an offensive threat in the paint, where he’s a lob threat, rim runner and a terrific offensive rebounder.
Jenkins spent his summer on the Nike EYBL circuit with Team Final, where he averaged 9.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game on 52% shooting from the field.
The 6-foot-10 native of Pennsylvania is Izzo and the Spartans’ second commit in the last two weeks, with Michigan State also landing top-20 recruit Antonio Pemberton on Sept. 18.
In 247Sports’ latest rankings for the class of 2027, Jenkins was rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 64 overall prospect in the country,
