A 6-foot-3 senior from Dynamic Prep (TX), Jones chose the Terrapins over Cincinnati, Clemson, Oklahoma State and Boston College, among others.
Jones recently took official visits to Cincinnati, Clemson and Oklahoma State, but following his most recent visit to College Park, the Texas native decided to commit to Maryland on Friday.
The Houston area product spent his summer with the Gulf Coast Blue Chips of the UAA Circuit, being named to the UAA Finals first-team during the summer, averaging 20.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game at the event.
Jones is yet another product of the Dynamic Prep program in Texas, which has been continuously led by longtime NBA veteran Jermaine O’Neal, with the program competing in many different elite events across the country,
The Dynamic Prep senior is Maryland’s first commit in the class of 2027, as it looks to revamp and prepare for its second season under Buzz Williams, who was hired by the program in April of 2025.
In 247Sports’ latest rankings of the class of 2027, Jones was profiled as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 37 overall prospect in his class, respectively.
