After entering the summer as a relative unknown possessing a wealth of upside, 7-foot Class of 2027 prospect Teke Deng now finds himself under a national microscope.

Authoring a summer tear in which he emerged into a thorough shot-blocking presence with translatable, compelling rim-to-rim mobility and alarming potential as a one dribble and attack the rim threat, Deng heard from the likes of USC and Kentucky during the summer’s stretch run.

Now putting the wheels in motion during a suddenly higher profile recruiting process, Deng has scheduled visits to Loyola-Chicago for this weekend and Kansas State for the weekend of Sept. 4-6.

Kansas State is a program which has been in pursuit of Deng since the earliest stages of the long, multi-dimensional big’s recruitment.

“I recently visited Kansas State (unofficially). I really enjoyed my visit, as well as the campus,” Deng said.

“The coaches basically told me they have a plan for me and showed how they want to develop me. I also received an offer from UNLV.”

Deng recently announced his decision to transfer to Sunrise Christian Academy (KS).

Now at a traditional national power, the move to Sunrise will increase Deng’s visibility across the country will likely increasing his collegiate options moving forward.

Previously unranked as an obscure, lesser heralded recruit, Deng also holds a recent offer from DePaul. He spent his junior season at Olate North HS in Kansas.

He erupted during the state tournament and turned in a wowing 25-point, 17-rebound performance in spearheading the public school program to a state title.

His play on the AAU circuit and throughout the off-season enabled him to display a wide ranging offensive skill set.

Deng’s style aligns with today’s game and tbe emphasis on the outside shot, as he has been able to step out and stick the 3-pointer. He’s equally notable with his ability to drag rim protectors away from the rim with a deft touch from 15-18 feet.
