Four-star guard Tyrone Jamison Jr. has pledged a commitment to Scott Drew and Baylor, 247Sports first reported on Saturday.
A 6-foot-1 rising senior at Calvary Baptist Academy (LA), Jamison chose the Bears over USC, Oklahoma, LSU, Iowa and Miami (FL).
Jamison is viewed as an aggressive and high-scoring guard with elite speed, quickness and a positive impact on both ends of the floor.
Speaking with ZAGSBLOG about the early stages of his recruitment last summer, Jamison called Baylor one of his “dream schools.”
“Definitely one of my dream schools growing up,” Jamison said. “A lot of good guards came through there, and Scott Drew is definitely a good coach. So I’d say that program is very good. They had a great year this year, too, making the tournament.” Assistant coach Tweety Carter was Jamison’s main contact at Baylor.
As members of the class of 2027 approach their senior year, Jamison becomes Baylor’s first commit in the class.
Entering his senior year, Jamison is ranked as the No. 38 overall recruit in the country by 247Sports.
