Four-star guard Oneal Delancy is headed to play for Kelvin Sampson at Houston, per reports.
A 6-foot-3 rising senior at Montverde Academy (FL), Delancy chose the Cougars over Florida, Florida State, Ohio State and Maryland.
While competing for the Florida Rebels on the Nike EYBL circuit, Delancy has drawn attention for his aggressive play style and his ability to score at all three levels at the guard position.
According to 247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein, Delancy is one of the oldest players in his grade, which makes him mature but also “has untapped upside as he looks to harness those competitive intangibles.”
He spoke with ZAGSBLOG last summer about his playing style and how he views himself as a player.
“An anchor to score and make plays for my teammates. My energy and passion for the game is what separates me as a player and a competitor,” said Delancy.
Delancy is Houston’s first commit in the class of 2027, kickstarting another presumably strong recruiting class for Sampson and the Cougars.
In 247Sports’ class of 2027 rankings, Delancy is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 53 overall prospect in his class.
