NORTH AUGUSTA, SC--Possessing college-ready physicality as a ferocious above rim finisher, Class of 2027 Nightrydas (FL) 4-5 Jeremy Jenkins continues to show his versatility as a heady passer.

At the start of Peach Jam, the Miami, Fla. native has turned in performance of 15 points, seven assists and four rebounds.

Houston has now come into his recruitment, as the program offered the 6-foot-9, 225-pound Jenkins on July 14th.

“Getting an offer from Houston felt great,” said Jenkins, who plays at Riviera Prep in Miami.

“They are like a new generation blue blood. I love the way coach (Kelvin) Sampson coaches. I recently re-opened my recruitment (after originally narrowing it down to 10 schools. Coach Sampson has basically just been telling me I can be the same player at the next level that I am now, a power player who brings a lot of versatility. I would be able to come in and be the same player, tighten a few things up but still be me.”

At the embryonic stages of a busy week at Peach Jam, Jenkins says he’s heard from Houston, Xavier, Georgia Tech, Washington, and several others.

Jenkins’ original Top Ten was whittled down to Indiana, Texas A & M, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Dayton, NC State, Washington, Xavier, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

“I’m wide open right now,” Jenkins told ZAGSBLOG on Wednesday.

Sampson was among several coaches who watched the Nightrydas play in Las Vegas last week.

Jenkins’ intriguing blend of size, power, comfortability putting the ball on the deck and adeptness for play-creation was noteworthy.

His Nightrydas teammate, Class of 2027 rim protector Luis Uvwo, has also been a transcendent stock riser this summer. Uvwo has routinely turned in games of five blocks or more across EYBL action. He’s emerged into a lob finisher and ultra-efficient scoring source while ramping up his national stock.
