Changing floors with relative ease, blocking shots and helping steer the driving lanes clear, Class of 2028 PSA Cardinals Center Joel Patrick enters Peach Jam as a rapidly evolving two way interior presence.

Generating possessions and keeping them alive for second chance buckets, Patrick is coming off a 4-0 weekend in scorching-hot Las Vegas during EYBL Session 4.

Readying for the rigors of a substantial role at St. Joe’s Metuchen (NJ), the 6-foot-10 Patrick enters Peach Jam as a defensively adept recruit who has improved incrementally as a catch and dunk threat, and highly efficient scoring source.

“I believe I improved on a lot of aspects of my game, but really my patience on offense,” said Patrick.

“I also think I’ve been able to showcase my passing. It’s an area of my game people really didn’t know about.”

West Virginia, Wake Forest, UTEP, Iona, Louisiana-Lafayette, Hampton, and several others have offered Patrick.

“I’ve been consistently hearing from all the schools I have been offered by,” Patrick said.

“There’s been interest from other programs, as well. I will hear compliments about my game from the coaches and they will explain their school’s traditions and style of play. Right now, I’m trying to win the Peach Jam.”

Patrick has piled up gaudy numbers and subsequently opened eyes with his ability to defend wings and even sit down on guards during his recent performance at Philly Live.

He registered 15 blocks in three games. He averaged 13.6 rebounds during the event.

From Ghana originally, Patrick said he envisions himself as a quintessential two-way big with mobility at the next level.

“I take a lot of pride in stopping my opponent, blocking shots, getting steals and grabbing rebounds,” Patrick said.

“Then getting into the pick-and-roll game, face up game, and being able to showcase my passing ability on the short roll or split action.”
