After losing most of its scoring to the transfer portal and NBA Draft, Tennessee has landed another player in this spring’s transfer portal.

The Volunteers are now set to add VCU transfer Christian Fermin, per reports.

Fermin, a 6-foot-10 forward from Tobyhanna, PA, averaged 0.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in just four appearances for the Rams this season.

The VCU big man took a leave of absence from the team in November due to a personal matter and later dealt with a muscle injury in his left iliopsoas.

In four seasons with the program, Fermin made 90 appearances for the Rams and averaged 4.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Fermin joins a Tennessee recruiting class that’s currently ranked as the No. 4 overall recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports.

The Volunteers’ class consists of four-star Christopher Washington Jr., four-star Ralph Scott, four-star Manny Green, three-star Marquis Clark, Wake Forest transfer Juke Harris, Kennesaw State transfer Braedan Lue, VCU transfer Terrence Hill Jr., Notre Dame transfer Jalen Haralson, Loyola-Chicago transfer Miles Rubin, California transfer Dai Dai Ames and Belmont transfer Tyler Lundblade.
