Class of 2025 four-star forward A’mare Bynum kicked off his fall official visit slate with a trip to Nebraska this past weekend.
“It was good,” Bynum told ZAGSBLOG via text. “The message was that I’m their No. 1 priority.”
Nebraska has been in Bynum’s recruitment for a long time and the forward is originally from Omaha. He attended Bryan High School (NE) before transferring to Link Academy for his senior season. Nebraska was his first offer.
Bynum previously told ZAGSBLOG he likes the Nebraska program because they get out and run.
“[Fred] Hoiberg been doing a great job over there,” Bynum said. “They started winning. They got to March Madness this year and I think they’ll continue to do real good. [Hoiberg] calls me, FaceTime’s me. I talk to him all the time. I talk to him and Nate [Loenser] all the time.”
Bynum has other official visits set to Iowa (Sept. 13), Colorado (Sept. 20), LSU (Sept. 27), Ohio State (Oct. 4) and Xavier (Oct. 11). He broke down some of those programs here.
The forward plans on committing sometime this fall before or during the high school basketball season.
Bynum is ranked the No. 100 overall prospect by 247Sports and the No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska. He isn’t the only hooper in the family. Bynum’s father, Omar Bynum, played at Iowa State. Bynum’s older brother, Jadin Johnson, played at Blinn College (JUCO) this past season.
