Class of 2024 top-250 prospect Chris Riddle has committed to DePaul, he announced Monday.

The 6-foot-5 wing out of Kenwood Academy (IL.) visited DePaul on Oct. 13 and ultimately chose his hometown Blue Demons over Illinois State, Akron, UIC and Northern Illinois.

“The way they explained everything. The way they explained it and not only that, but the way they showed it,” Riddle said during his commitment. “They showed me their plan and how they executed it to me and my family very well.”

Kenwood coach Mike Irvin commented on Riddle’s toughness and versatility.

“He’s Chicago tough,” Irvin said in an interview. “He can play three-to-four positions. His work ethic, willingness to win, he’s been in a winning program from AAU to high school, he can bring a lot to the table for DePaul.”

“He’s got a lot of talent and I think he’s a top-50 talent in the country,” Irvin continued. “So right now, this year, we’re just going to bring that out and expect him to have a monster year.”

Coach Irvin also touched on the hometown-connection between Riddle and DePaul.

“This is a huge gift for him just to be able to stay and play in front of his friends and family in the Big East Conference,” Irvin said. “This will be very good for DePaul and very good for him [Chris]. To keep a kid at home, that’s big-time.”

Riddle is the first commit in DePaul’s class of 2024. The Blue Demons are also involved with Riddle’s teammate and three-star Jaden Smith, who visited with Riddle last weekend.

Three-star forward Xander Wedlow also visited on Oct. 1.
