  • Texas lands 4-star combo guard Chris Johnson

    Chris Johnson, the 6-foot-4 combo guard from Montverde (FL) Academy, has committed to Texas.

    The former Kansas commit and Missouri City, Texas native also considered Arkansas and Washington. He is ranked the No. 11 combo guard by 247Sports.com.

    “I wanted to be closer to my family,” he told On3.com. I’ve always wanted to play for Texas basketball and wanted to start my legacy with “Texas” on the front of my jersey.”

    He is the first Texas commit in 2024.
