Cincinnati transfer Mika Adams-Woods has committed to St. Bonaventure, he announced Sunday.

The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 9.1 points and 3.2 assists last season.

“We are really excited that Mika has decided to join our program,” St. Bonaventure head coach Mark Schmidt said

“He is someone who has played at a high level for the last four years and proven his ability to be an impact player in a variety of ways. He’s long and can create a lot of issues defensively for opponents. He’s a lefty with good range and knack for making the right play. He will add to a talented group we have in our backcourt and we’re looking forward to him getting to work with us this summer.”

Adams-Woods played in 121 games including 104 starts during the past four seasons at the University of Cincinnati. He enjoyed his best season this past year with the Bearcats as he posted improvements in all statistical categories, averaging 9.1 points, 3.2 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals while starting all 36 games. He shot 43 percent overall from the floor and added a deep threat, sinking over 36 percent of his tries from distance (52-142). From the foul line, he made good on nearly 84 percent of his tries last year.

He scored in double figures 18 times this past season for the Bearcats, including a season-best 20 points in an American Athletic Conference first round win over Temple. He also notched 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting in a standout effort vs. second-ranked Houston in AAC play last year. Adams-Woods helped Cincinnati to a 23-13 record and the third round of the NIT during his senior season.

He joins transfer center Noel Brown and transfer guard Charles Pride, incoming freshman guard Miles Rose and reclassified forward Duane Thompson for this upcoming season.
