Purdue star big man Zach Edey declares for NBA Draft, will retain eligbility
By CHARLIE PARENT
National Player of the Year Zach Edey has declared for the NBA Draft while retaining his college eligibility, he announced Tuesday.
The 7-foot-4 big man averaged 22.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks on a nation leading 60.7% shooting for Purdue last season.
“Thank you Boiler nation for taking in and accepting some no name kid from Canada,” Edey said in an April 10th Tweet. “You guys as well as my teammates and coaches embraced me and that’s all I could have ever asked for. From ranked 437 to NPOY has been a crazy ride and I’m just getting started.”
Edey will likely be a late second round pick in this year’s draft.
