Georgetown transfer Brandon Murray is headed to play for Chris Beard at Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-5 Germantown, MD native averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a sophomore under Patrick Ewing, who was fired after the season. He began his career under former LSU coach Will Wade, who was fired after last season and is now at McNeese State.
Now he’ll play for Beard, the former Texas and current Ole Miss coach.
“I chose Ole Miss because of the mission and plan that coach Beard and staff have,” he told On3.com. “I’ve never met a group of coaches with chips on their shoulder. It didn’t feel like I was getting recruited. It was more of the staff opening up and inviting me to the family.”
