Western Kentucky transfer Dayvion McKnight has committed to Xavier, he announced Monday.

The 6-foot-1 guard, who is heralded for his scoring ability, averaged 16.5 points on 46% shooting. He also hauled in 5 rebounds, dished out 3.8 assists, and nabbed 1.8 steals per game for the Hilltoppers last season.

“I feel it’s a great fit for me,” McKnight told On3 Sports. “Being in the Big East, one of the best conferences in the country, and being able to play for a point guard head coach. I feel Xavier will make me a better player and person.”

McKnight becomes the second player to transfer to Xavier, joining former Indiana big man Logan Duncomb.

He’ll be a key piece on a roster trying to get back to the Sweet 16 after losing to two-seed Texas in last month’s tournament.
