ATLANTA – Class of 2023 five-star center Ugonna Kingsley Onyenso has already taken his first official visit and has more visits in the works, he tells ZAGSBLOG.

The 6-foot-11, 195-pound center from Putnam Science (CT) Academy and the NY Jayhawks AAU and Team New England programs, recently took his first official visit to Oklahoma State from June 29 to July 1.

“It was a very great visit. I love the coaches, the players and the energy,” Onyenso said. “One thing that stood out to me was the interaction between the players and the coaches and how well they bonded.”

Onyenso is also in contact with coaches from LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky and Oklahoma about setting up visits, which are expected to be set by the end of July.

“For me, one thing I look for in a school is family. I want to go to a school that will take me in as a family. My biggest take is the bond between the players and the coaches.”

Onyenso posted 14 points on 4-for-6 from the field, including six rebounds and two assists in NBA Academy Select’s 83-78 loss to NBA Academy Africa – Blue on Saturday.

“The team we played is a really tough team,” Onyenso said. “They’re strong. I wasn’t expecting anything otherwise than the performance they gave today. It was probably the toughest game we’ve had since we started playing.”

Ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 4 center and No. 22 overall prospect in the class of 2023, Onyenso excels on the defensive end, blocking shots and running the floor.
