“[The deciding factors were] my relationships with the coaching staff and players,” Williams told ZAGSBLOG Monday. “It’s a program on the rise so I want to help and continue to build it.”
The 6-foot-3, 183-pound point guard out of Hamilton, ON, chose Coastal Carolina over interest from Oregon State, BYU, Georgia, Eastern Kentucky, Boise State and Cal-Riverside.
Williams says he has a great relationship with Coastal Carolina assistant coach Patrice Days.
“It all starts with coach Days,” Williams said. “He’s been recruiting me for about three years now and we’ve had a good relationship since then.”
Williams is the first commit in Coastal Carolina’s 2021 recruiting class.
“I’m a guy who’s going to give it his all on both sides of the ball,” he said. “Im someone who is exciting to watch, someone who can make his teammates better and score the ball.”
