Oklahoma State freshman guard Cade Cunningham is projected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft to the Detroit Pistons, per Bleacher Report’s latest mock draft released Tuesday.
The 6-foot-8 Cunningham has lived up to the hype this season, averaging 18.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point range.
Cunningham is followed by USC freshman Evan Mobley and G-League Select forward Jonathan Kuminga to round out the top-three.
The 6-foot-8 Kuminga, who spent last season with The Patrick (NJ) School before joining the newly formed G League Ignite team, is projected to be selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the No. 3 overall pick.
Kuminga, a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has recently drawn comparisons to Paul George, Jaylen Brown entering NBA G League bubble.
Kuminga’s teammate with the G-League Ignite Team, Jalen Green, is slotted to land just a couple picks later.
The 6-foot-5 Green, who spent last season with Prolific Prep (CA), , is projected to be selected No. 5 overall to the Orlando Magic.
Green recently recommended the G-League route to other high school stars including five-star guard Jaden Hardy.
