SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Gabe Wiznitzer is currently a junior at Hargrave Military Academy (VA), but there is a small possibility that the 6-foot-11 center may reclassify to the class of 2020.

Since transferring from the Christ School (NC), Wiznitzer has focused on his body. He said he’s lost 15 pounds, and the coaching staff at Hargrave “run us to death,” Wiznitzer said. He has 14 offers for 2021, and he is often in contact with Clemson, which is about an hour and a half from his home town.

“I’m still planning on going 2021,” Wiznitzer said at the Hoophall Classic where he went for 9 points and 3 rebounds as Hargrave smashed Orangeville Prep, 91-73. “Honestly, I just want to be get my body ready for college.”

Wiznitzer has been in contact with Clemson, Minnesota, Ohio State and Purdue recently. He’s taken unofficial visits to Clemson, Georgia Tech and George Washington. He hopes to official to Penn, TCU and potentially Clemson. Wiznitzer showed his low post game, but also hit a 3-pointer in the win.

Wiznitzer, who carries around a 3.9 GPA, said some programs are offering for either 2020 or ’21. Some would want him to redshirt if he enrolled next fall. West Virginia is among the schools recruiting him for 2020.

“If the right opportunity comes, I could go 2020.”
