Elijah Wood, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound combo guard from Team Thrill and Bethesda-Chevy Chase (MD) High School, committed to Rhode Island on Monday.

Rated the No. 9 combo guard nationally in the Class of 2020 by 247Sports.com, Wood had previously pledge to Tulane.

“Rhody is a great school and staff and I love everything about it,” he said. “I can’t wait to get on the floor. I bring passing ability, a winning attitude and scoring.”

Wood is Coach David Cox‘s first pledge in the Class of 2020.

“Hopefully I can give great minutes and contribute from the jump,” Wood said.
