Markus Howard will return to Marquette for his senior season.

The reigning Big East Player of the Year figures to be the league’s Preseason Player of the Year and has a chance to win back-to-back Player of the Year Awards.

The last person to win back-to-back such awards was Providence’s Kris Dunn.

Howard averaged 25.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.9 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (23-8, 12-6). The 5-foot-11 guard scored a Big East-record 53 points against Creighton on Jan. 9.
