Markus Howard had just 5 points at halftime of Marquette’s 103-85 win over Buffalo on Friday night.

After an explosive second half in which he scored 40 more points, Howard finished with 45 points, the most scored this season against a Division 1 opponent. He drained nine 3-pointers in the win and now has the three highest-scoring single games in Marquette history.

Howard went for 52 in January 2018 in an overtime win against Providence and now has two games of 45 points.

No. 20 Marquette improved to 9-2, while No. 14 Buffalo (11-1) lost its first game of the season.
