Casey Morsell, the 6-foot-2 shooting guard from St. John’s College High School (DC), has committed to Virginia, he announced on Wednesday.

Morsell chose the Cavaliers over Penn State and Oklahoma State.

“I have a good relationship with the coaches and I love the culture and team they have,” Morsell told 247Sports. “My favorite visit was there. They do a great job of developing their players and I could definitely see myself playing there.”

Morsell is the first commit in the 2019 class for coach Tony Bennett. Morsell will run with Team Takeover this summer on the EYBL Circuit.

According to 247Sports, Morsell is a three-star recruit and the No. 1 player from Washington D.C.
