Kentucky coach John Calipari visited the Ranney School (N.J.) on Sunday and offered scholarships to Class of 2019 stars Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis.

Antoine and Lewis are ranked No. 3 and No. 5 in the 2019 class according to 247 Sports.

“Coach Cal is really down to Earth and easy going,” Lewis said Monday. “He really just wanted to tell me the real deal about him and the program. We all know the rumors about UK and he wanted to set the record straight. He said he tries to teach his players how to be better people and better men. And he thinks I have qualities that some of his players don’t learn to have until they leave him.”

The two have expressed interest in possibly teaming up at the next level.

“Bryan and I are still talking about the possibility of us going to school together, we just don’t know yet,” Lewis said.

“Very serious conversation,” the 6-foot-5 Antoine said in July. “Honestly, it was like 11 o’clock at night, we were at a friend’s house. And it was me, Scottie and a friend, and we were in the room for a good two hours just talking about the options, like the benefits of going to the same school, what would happen if me and him went to the same school. It was a very in-depth serious conversation.”

Calipari has seen both guys play several times, including a trip to New Jersey last winter to see them at Roselle Catholic.

Both guys also visited Kentucky (and Louisville) around the Kentucky Derby.

“It was just cool to be on campus [at Kentucky], it was a cool thing to be a part of,” Lewis said.

Kentucky has had great success recruiting the state of New Jersey. Calipari has been able to swipe Nick Richards, Isaiah Briscoe, Karl Anthony-Towns, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Dakari Johnson from the Garden State..

Antoine and Lewis are the second and third members of the 2019 class to be offered by Kentucky with power forward James Wiseman being the first.

Duke and Florida — which both previously offered the duo — will watch Antoine and Lewis on Tuesday, while Louisville head coach Rick Pitino is expected to have a private meeting with the duo on Wednesday.
