LOS ANGELES (AP)TJ Leaf sprained his left ankle five minutes into No. 3 UCLA’s game against Washington on Wednesday night.

The freshman forward stepped on the foot of a Huskies player as they came down from rebounding. Leaf landed on the court and stayed down until he was helped up by two staff members. He limped off with his arms draped over the staffers and went into the locker room.

A team spokesman said Leaf won’t return to the game and will be reevaluated on Thursday.

He is averaging 16.8 points and 8.7 rebounds for the Bruins.
