  • Recruiting Roundup: Weekend Visits and Tidbits

    Here’s a look towards this weekend’s recruiting visits and other news. This list will be updated throughout the weekend.

    **Duke will host several prospects this weekend for “Countdown to Craziness,” including Class of 2017 prospects Gary Trent Jr.Matt Coleman and Wendell Carter Jr., and Class of 2018 standouts Zion Williamson, Tre Jones and Cameron Reddish. Williamson also visits N.C. State on Friday.

    **Syracuse will host several prospects for “Orange Madness,” including Class of 2017 guard Quade Green, Canadian small forward Oshae Brissett, Class of 2018 standout Naz Reid, and 2019 guards Kahlil Whitney and Isaiah Wong (via Pat Lawless).

    **Virginia Tech hosts an impressive group of prospects including, 2017 forward Antwan Walker, along with 2018’s Kiyon Boyd, Xavier Johnson, and Deshaun Wade. They have also hosted 2019’s Armando Bacot, Aundre Hyatt, Wendell Moore, Josh Nickelberry, Marvin Price, and commit BJ Mack.

    **Aundre Hyatt, the 6-6 Class of 2019 forward from the Miller (GA) School, will also take an unofficial to VCU this weekend.

    **Trae Young, the 6-foot-2 point guard from Norman North (OK) High School, will take his fourth official visit to Kansas this weekend (Oct.21). Young has previously taken official visits to Oklahoma (Sept. 16), Texas Tech (Sept. 29), and Kentucky (Oct. 14). He visited Kentucky last week for Big Blue Madness. He is also considering  Washington and Oklahoma State.

    **Deng Gak, the 6-11 center from Blair (NJ) Academy, takes his third official visit to Kansas this weekend (Oct. 21). Gak recently cut his list to three and has already taken visits to Miami (Sept. 23) and Florida (Oct. 7).

    **Jarred Vanderbilt, the 6-8 small forward from Victory (TX) Prep, takes his third official visit to Kentucky this weekend (Oct. 22). Vanderbilt took an official to UNC last weekend for “Late Night with Roy” (Oct. 14) and took an official to TCU last month (Sept. 16). He is also considering Kansas, Texas, Oregon, Arizona, Houston, and Baylor.

    **Billy Preston, the 6-10 power forward from Oak Hill (VA) Academy, takes his third official visit to Indiana this weekend (Oct. 21). Preston has previously taken visits to Kansas (Sept. 30) and Syracuse (Oct. 15). He has no other visits planned.

    **Felipe Haase, a 6-10 big man from Miami Christian, visits Missouri this weekend and Pitt next weekend. He’s also considering Louisville, South Carolina and Purdue.

    **Daejon Davis, a 6-3 combo guard from Garfield (WA) High School, trips to Washington this weekend (Oct. 21) for his fourth official visit. Davis has also taken officials to the other three schools on his final list: Oregon (Sept. 23), Stanford (Sept. 30), and Gonzaga (Oct. 7).

    **Charles O’Bannon Jr., the 6-5 shooting guard from Bishop Gorman (NV) High School, takes his third official visit to N.C. State this weekend (Oct. 21). O’Bannon has previously taken official visits to UCLA (Sept. 30) and USC (Oct. 7), and has plans to visit Texas next month (Nov. 7). He currently has a final four of NC State, UCLA, USC, and Texas.

    **Nic Claxton, a 6-9 power forward from Legacy (SC) Charter School, trips to N.C. State this weekend for his fifth official visit. Claxton has already taken officials to Florida State (Sept. 9), South Carolina (Sept. 16), Georgia (Sept. 30), and Baylor (Oct. 14). He has no other visits planned.

    **Lance Thomas, a 6-10 power forward from Norcross (GA) High School, will take his third official visit to Louisville this weekend (Oct. 21-22). Thomas has already taken an official to Florida (Sept. 9-10) and Miami (Sept. 16-17). He also has plans to visit USC later this month (Oct. 27-29). Louisville will also host 2018’s Luguentz Dort and Darius Garland, and 2019’s Christian Brown and Ashton Hagins.

    **Bourama Sidibe, the 6-9 power forward from St. Benedict’s (NJ) Preparatory School, takes his first official visit to Texas Tech this weekend (Oct. 21). Sibide also plans to visit Oklahoma State (Oct. 28) and Syracuse (Nov. 11).

    **Kentucky hosts 2019 teammates Balsa Koprivica and Vernon Carey Jr. for unofficial visits.

    **Immanuel Quickley, the 2018 point guard from John Carroll (MD) School, takes an unofficial visit to Virginia this weekend (Oct. 22) after visiting Louisville last weekend (Oct. 15). Quickley has also taken unofficials to Miami (Oct. 8), and Kentucky for Big Blue Madness (Oct. 14).

    **Zach Kent, the 6-10 big man from Blair (N.J.) Academy, visits Northwestern after hitting Tennessee last week.
