  • P.J. Washington Sets Four Officials (UPDATED)

    Share Zagsblog Share Zagsblog
P.J. Washington has set dates for his four official visits this fall.

The 6-foot-8 Washington will visit Kentucky (Sept. 16-18), North Carolina (Sept. 23-25), Arizona (Oct. 21-23) and Texas (Oct. 28-30).

“Coaches hit me every day and want to secure spots [for official visits],” Paul Washington, P.J.’s father and the new Findlay Prep coach, said Wednesday on The 4 Quarters Podcast. “With me starting this new job….they’re really waiting on me to figure out when we can get out and do that kind of stuff.”

As for the fifth visit, Washington also has UCLA, N.C. State, Kansas and UNLV on his list.

“We leave that fifth one open strategically to see who’s going where,” Paul said. “That’s our goal right now, to get those four out of the way. Maybe 2-3 before November because once the season starts, it’s tough to get them in.”

Washington and Team Petty teammate John Petty have discussed a possible package deal, but Paul said not to put too much stock into that. Petty began an official to Alabama on Thursday. Kansas and Kentucky are the only schools in common for the two guys.

“I know P.J. is a great kid, a lot of kids want to play with him,” Paul said. “And I know Petty and his family, they have to make the best decision for them and we’ll make the best decision for P.J. with P.J. So I wouldn’t put too much stock into those are the only two schools…If it works out that way, that’s great.”
